THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

Well the first of our new beginnings is almost here. It is only 12 more days until my daughter Shasta's wedding. It is hard to believe that it is that close. We are asking for lots of prayers for a warm sunny day. If it would be sunshine & at least 60 degrees we can make it. I have been stressing about it for awhile. Last year on the first Saturday of Spring Break it was sleeting & snowing.

Wayne has built her a massive pine arch with a stage & 40' walkway out in the middle of a huge field, so we don't want all that hard work to go to waste. I told her if it rained then we would all be under umbrellas because that arch was going to be used........

We also totally emptied a huge barn on her grandfather's property and transformed it into a fairytale area. The front area has trees filled with lights all around the room. There is a huge beam with trees surrounding it full of lights that leads into the dance area. We have hung gossamer with lights, puff balls, rose balls and lanterns all over the ceiling to make it more of a fairytale look. We have to wait until next Thursday to put the tables & decorations on. I am excited to see the finished product. The back room that is for dancing has a couple of lighted trees and hay bales in it. If it rains I guess that will be where the wedding will take place. I don't like that idea, but that is what she has decided on.

My neighbor & very good friend is the one with all the experience & know how that has given me all the suggestions on the barn & has done tons of work trying to make it beautiful. I am so thankful for her, because I could have never done this by myself. I don't have a creative bone in my body (that is the truth & the whole truth so help me God)!!!!!

The most horrible, ugly disgusting thing about the whole thing is that Shasta's grandfather decided to paint the front of the barn a ugly bright bright GREEN...... WHAT WAS HE THINKING???? That is just it, he wasn't thinking and was too stubborn to ask someone else's opinion. I can't even look at it. Shasta hates it, but is just going to live with it I guess. At least we can open the big door so you can't see the whole ugly thing.

Oh well, I am praying that we get everything just right, it doesn't rain or snow & that we don't forget something important. I am so thankful to everyone for all they have done to help us so far. The count down has really begun!!!

Can't wait to see the finished product! I was going to come after the shower but Danny had a mean stomach bug and I needed to get home and check on him! I'm praying for sunny, warm weather!
