CHRISTMAS 2010
Christmas morning started out great at our cabin. Leanne, Kyleigh, Emma, Brandon, Bethany, Shasta, Jeremy, Wayne & I met there around 9 am to begin our breakfast. I made Sausage Egg & Cheese & Bacon Egg & Cheese Biscuits (oh and just Egg & Cheese for Shasta) and had hot chocolate in our new Christmas mugs. As soon as breakfast was over we begun to open the gifts. Leanne wanted us to open them one at a time with everyone taking turns opening them except for Kyleigh & Emma. Needless to say it took a loooooooonnnngggg time to open all those gifts. It is funny to me that I say every year that I am going to cut back, but then I get to feeling bad cause I don't want everyone opening just one gift. Makes me feel bad though when I think of all those little kids in the world that don't have many if any to open. Actually I was one of those kids, so I think that is why I go overboard now with my own kids & grandkids now.

After the gifts were open we sat around and talked for a while then left the cabin to go get ready for Christmas with Mamaw, Linda, Larry & Michael. We arrived there around 1:30 (we were supposed to start lunch at 1 but as usual we are always late). After lunch Kyleigh & Emma opened their gifts from them and then we took our annual family picture. It was sooooo cold and the wind was blowing so that made it even colder. After a very quick couple of pictures we went back inside to play games.
Around 5:30 Linda, Larry & Michael left to go home, they live next door to Delta with a creek & some woods between them. We were gathering our stuff to leave when Delta got a phone call, Linda's house had been robbed. It was pretty awful, they took guns, bows, jewelry, a couple of TV's, a safe containing important papers, etc. Talk about feeling violated, how can people be so cruel and so blatant when we were just next door. My nephew was robbed a couple of months ago, also on Crow Mt. Last year I know of another couple that was robbed just down the road from their house. I think it is pretty bad up there with a lot of thefts. I usually don't worry about my place getting robbed because we have traffic from family through here all the time & I have a big Rottweiler dog that does bite so I haven't been too concerned, but since that happened it just makes you a little leery about ever leaving your home. It is pretty sad when you have to feel so unsafe in your own home which is your sanctuary. Apparently these people that are robbing up there are getting by with it cause they haven't been caught in at least 2 years.
Anyways, on a lighter note, I hope all you blog readers have had a wonderful Christmas with your families. Also, praying you have a great 2011. I for one am happy that 2010 is almost over. It hasn't been the best year for a lot of people I know including my own family, so we are looking forward to a better 2011. I am going to be an optimist this time around.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
