IT'S LIKE WRESTLING A BEAR

Have you ever owned a Rottweiler puppy? Well let me tell you it's not an easy thing to do. I purchased me one back in June when she was 8 weeks old. I have wanted a Rottweiler since my "Sparky" ( 1/2 Rott & 1/2 Lab) had to be put to sleep about 4 years ago. Brandon found this puppy for me not to far from his house in Siloam. I immediately fell in love with the cute little or rather big puppy. I had an idea in my head of how awesome she was going to be and how I would teach her from a young age how to behave & mind me. But to my surprise it has been like a wrestling match, no matter what you try to do as far as feeding her, walking in the yard, cleaning out your flower bed, etc. you have to wrestle her and she always wins. She is the size of a small lab right now and is only 5 months old. She totally wears me out and I feel like I have been in the ring with Rocky and I just lost the match.



I recently drug a glass door over my foot and tore two toes up and ever single time I let her out of the pen, for some reason she always stepped on those toes and would make them bleed. No matter how hard I tried to keep her away from my foot she still found it. A couple of weeks after I cut my foot I was riding on the 4-wheeler with Wayne and I stuck my leg to the exhaust. I ended up with a 2nd degree burn and had to go to the doctor because it got infected. After a week and a half I finally had no pain with it and had just told Wayne that when about 20 minutes after getting home from checking cows I let "Gentry" out of her pen and headed to the house when "WHAM" she slammed into my burn. If I could have moved I would have chased her down and spanked her (even though she wouldn't feel it). I was so mad at her but she just stood there wagging her tail wanting me to play with her.

So unless you want to wrestle with a dog every time you walk out the door, don't buy a Rottweiler puppy that is expected to be about 180 lbs when full grown. Actually she is a beautiful dog with a mean bark but loves to give kisses to Kyleigh & Emma. Kyleigh yells at her to stop before she even gets close to her and Emma just stands still and cries. Gentry is at the right height to lick Emma in the face.
